Join
the Humane Society of Shelby County for our Annual |
Wag-A-Thon is the Humane Society of Shelby County's annual pledge walk, held to promote fun, fitness and responsible pet ownership. Wag-A-Thon raises funds to support the Humane Society's mission of providing care for homeless, abused, neglected and unwanted animals. |
Wag-A-Thon walkers are animal lovers (and their pets), organizations, companies, schools, neighborhoods, civic organization and places of worship that form teams consisting of co-workers, family and friends brought together to save their furry friend. |
Sunday, October 29th 2000 Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham, Alabama - Terrace Drive - Picnic Area 1 Registration - 1:00 PM |
You may participate by being a sponsor; team captain; or a walker. Participating walkers raise funds prior to the Wag-A-Thon. The day of the even, participants (and their dogs) walk a pre-set one-mile course and take part in the Wag-A-Thon festivities, including opportunities to win great prizes. |
Homeless animals and lack of education regarding responsible pet ownership affects everyone. Although many do not realize it, they pay with millions in tax dollars each year as communities struggle to keep up with the growth of our animal population. By supporting the Humane Society, we can offer animal rescue, spay and neuter education and assistance, foster care and placement . We need your help to expand our facilities and extend our outreach into the community. |

Please bring a bag of dog food or cat food on Wag-A-Thon day, and be entered into a drawing to win a "Big Prize". Bring your dogs; bring your family; and if you need a pet to walk, you can walk one of the Humane Society's for $5.00. Thank You for Helping Our Furry Friends!
